Summary (Switzerland)

After the “against the clock” of the last few weeks trying to get ready for my travel while still working for my employer, the day of departure finally came. On the morning of this day, after having spent most of the previous night with my father to finish preparing the bike, I tested it for the first time with all luggages. Loaded as a mule, the convoy was being unstable and it took me several days to really get used to it. Accompanied by a colleague, friends and by my father, we pedalled the first thirty kilometres up to the “place de la Navigation” in Ouchy-Lausanne, where all my friends had gathered to celebrate that special moment.

With a amazing fantastic weather, I travelled my first few days in the best possible conditions, enjoying every evening the hospitality of my friends to overnight in a warm place.
After 4 days on the road, I stopped at my mum in the upper Wallis to celebrate the new years’ day and for a final check of all my bags to eliminate the superfluous.
I had planned to go through the Simplon Pass, which has a symbolic value for me but I had to abandon the idea because the road was snow-covered and proved too dangerous to be driven by bike. Finally, it is by train that I went to Italy.
