Story of a dream

Bathed in visiting new countries since I was little, because we travelled a lot with my family during holidays, the virus of staying a long time abroad grabbed me around the age of 19. At that time, my dream was to spend a year “au pair” in the United States. This never came true but, then, over the years, the dream matured. He was placed in a tray several times and came out bigger and different each time, until the last version that was to go through South America with a 4x4. The fact, however, to burn fuel "for nothing" disturbed me, and after various meetings, discussions and personal reflections, in autumn 2007 the idea of starting to tour the world by bicycle appeared. It was the element that I missed! Once I had it, I immediately worked to gather information to define the course, to choose the ideal bike and all the equipment that I needed.

Throughout these years of maturation, readings, attending conferences and my personal life have built the necessary confidence and mental preparation to accomplish this trip. And what was a dream in my mind has, through this, come reality.
If I say this, it is because two years ago, if you would have told me that I would one day travel around the world by bike, I would have said you were mad. I had not, at that time, sufficient confidence to even imagine such a project.

In all this, the dream is only one part of the trip. It would not be what it is without the thirst for learning (learning to know myself better, to acquire the wisdom to face the unknown, ...) and knowing (see the world with my own eyes, discover new cultures, new countries, new attitudes, ...)
If I'm able to do that, I am convinced, today, that anyone who has a dream strong enough is in position to make it come true, if he agrees to work for it.
